Petition to Retain the Southampton/Alderney Air Link

This is our lifeline

Removing this air link will surely damage Alderney. It is so much easier for visitors to travel direct to Alderney rather than go via Guernsey.

I live in Bristol - but prefer to go to Alderney via Southampton. I actually get over quicker despite having to drive/get a train down there.

As a family we have been visiting Alderney at least once a year for the last 25 yrs and despite the rising costs continue to do so - please do not remove this route as it is essential to this special island

I would like to be able to visit my parents -

Our friends live on the island and if we can't get to see them that would be a disaster and so sad.

We visit the island from Wales - so we already have quite a journey before we hit Southampton. Please don't stop this service. Our family is large and all would like to visit the island, if this service is axed - tourism would fall tremendously and the island would suffer inconceivable damage to its existence.

Come on guernsey states help our little island instead of trying to make it even more of a problem for anyone to get here and away again

It seems far more logical to look at ways of boosting tourism than to cut a much-needed service and damage the island's economy still further.

This is madness. I was born on the island and my family still live there. I travel back and forth up to 6 times a year. To abolish this route would negatively impact the lives of the islanders and those who live there and travel to and from work

It's difficult to get a seat so the fact that it's full surely shows the need for this important service for both the island dwellers and tourists

Why oh why would they consider stoppingbthis! Maybe they should consider investing in marketing to create awareness and encourage much needed tourism which in turn would surely help raise the funds needed to support the airline

Alderney needs the lifeline link to Southampton

It is essential for Alderney to keep the lifeline connection to the mainland

Without this vital air link my friends wouldn’t be able to fly back to see us ...or me go to them . I really value the use of the direct flight to Alderney from Southampton

This route has been running for 47 years and it is the basis of the Alderney Economy.

We need to retain this direct link as it makes it possible to do a day return if required. Who wants to spend hours waiting in GCI for a connecting flight.
