Petition to Retain the Southampton/Alderney Air Link

Alderney will stop making money if they don’t get as many people over so basically you are putting the people who live there into poverty

This is an essential route in and out of the amazing Island of Alderney. I fell in love with the place and it’s people the first time I went, please don’t prevent future generations or even more from my generation from experiencing this beautiful place. The people of the island need this connection to stay connected to the mainland and to bring much needed tourism to the island.

Its just so so sad that has come to this.

Another potential nail in the death of Alderney tourism

This is as VITAL to Alderney residents as it is to us that live on the mainland. End of.

With Aurigny being so unreliable now, using one flight direct to Southampton is a lot more appealing than having to go through Guern and having two Aurigny flights to get to England! This route must stay.

This Air link is vital for Alderney's future economy

I use this service at least 3 times a year. I have been on planes where my wife and myself have been the only passengers. If ticketing was to be improved ( including last minute seat fill tickets ) I am sure extra revenue could be made to fill some of the black hole currently left. The flights are a lifeline if more was given to islanders and visitors by way of deals then I am sure traffic would increase bringing extra income to the whole island. Simple economics. State support is a must have if the tourist trade and financial support to the states from tourism is to continue.

Please keep this airline going. It enabled us to have a wonderful time in Alderney, travelling in a most convenient way from Southampton, especially with a young family.

The Alderney air link with Southampton is vital for the Island and its loss would be detrimental to Alderneys future.

The service is vital - we use it to visit family & holiday on the island. Totally disgraceful as it will isolate the people on the island & will impact on tourism. Scottish Isles with smaller populations than Alderney have direct flights from the mainland & this attempted move is a slap in the face to the Island & its economy & people.

I think it will isolate Alderney completely and cripple tourism. The States need to think very carefully before making any rash decisions.

A direct air link to Southampton is an absolute must...I can't think why it is even being argued about! It's vital to islanders, tourism and medical care..Alderney get little enough in return for their contributions to the pot as it is, but to take away this link would be disastrous

Love Alderney nd the loss of a direct airlink would be very difficult for residents & visitors.
