This route is used by my parents as the easiest and most convienient way of getting back to mainland U.K. To see their children and grandchildren.

The loss of the direct Southampton link will cripple Alderneys economy and increase depopulation. We must not loose this critical lifeline link.

This route is vital. Often journeys are to visit sick loved ones & via gurnesey would be too late

Amazing how States of Guernsey are duped by Aurigny over losses on the route when we see all the inefficiencies in the Aurigny organisation

My family live in Ireland and my daughter is a foster carer so invariably has one or more children (on top of her own two) to travel with. If they came through Guernsey the connections are so bad there are few flights to Ireland which would mean an overnight stay at times in Guernsey. That would also mean 6 flights in total to get here and get back home and they only live an hour or so away! On top of that the cost would be enormous and I can see my family not being able to visit at all. This route is so important to me for my family and for those of us that do not like flying and for the hospital. The stress caused for an ill or elderly person travelling to Southampton is bad enough but to have to go via Guernsey as well would just not be fair. It would not be so bad either if the connections were any good but sometimes they are as much as 5 hours apart AND you can't even check your luggage in to go out for a walk!

I travel with my son who is wheelchair bound. Two flights instead of one to cover such a short distance would be soul destroying as well as back breaking.

This our only direct link with the UK if you take this away it will mean even medical emergencies would have to go via Guernsey which could mean life or death to someone. My mother had a detached retina and had to flown straight to Southampton and taken to Moorfields Eye Hospitale where the operation was carried out straight other wise see would have lost her sight. Alderney depends on this direct flight and it would be criminal to stop it.

I share my husband's comments copied below:- "This route means as much to my family and the Island as the Gatwick route means to the people and Island of Guernsey. Why should our need and requirement count for less than the Island of Guernsey. "

I travel regularly to see family. The loss of this route would impact us all. Already alderney residents are treated like 2nd class citizens having to pay more to get off island than both guernsey and Jersey. Is it any surprise people move off island. Alderney is at risk of becoming a rich man's playground and the true good people of the island will be lost forever.

I only discovered this amazing island last year! The link from Southampton to Alderney is vital for people to see this gorgeous place and I wouldn't be able yo go again if it wasn't avalible.
