Petition to renew Mr. Scott Belcher's contract for the 2022-23 school year

My son loves band and belcher.

Was my music teacher from middle school and all the way to high-school this man has brought the school championship and he is a lot of reasons why another students respect him

Scott is a personal friend. There’s nobody that I know who has the passion or drive for music nor the desire to support those who share the same love of music and performing.

Hands down one of THE best teachers at Nelson

Belcher has been at Nelson for such a long time, and has done so much to help the school out in general. He deserves to have his contract renewed!

Mr. Belcher taught my wife who graduated drum line and is teaching my son who is following in the footsteps and starts marching band next year. Mr Belcher is why my son chose band!

Mr Belcher was the best part of my high school experience. He believed in me when I didn’t, he pushed me to keep music incorporated in my life, and I don’t believe I’d be here today without someone like Mr Belcher believing in me and showing me the love and support that he gives every one of his students.

Sounds like a well respected gentleman to me. Please set a good example for our children and give him a second chance.

Mr. Belcher has been a well respected educator in Nelson County for many years. People often say things in the heat of the moment or things that are taken out of context. If the past two years has taught us anything, it is that we need to be more tolerant and forgiving.

He deserves a second chance and are we not a loving family community?

Scott is an inspiration. He gave me my first marching band instructor position and helped mold me into the director I am today.

Being a former student of Mr. Belcher, he deserves so much better than what the county is providing.

This is a very sad, unfortunate thing. If anyone takes the time to read the comments here, it is obvious that Mr. Belcher is loved by not only his students, but the public as well. Take a step back and look at how many students he has motivated and mentored in Nelson County. Look at the awards that the students have won, the confidence his students have gained. It is so easy to see the commitment he has to Nelson County and his students. I was a student of Mr. Belcher's over 40 years ago. I still look up to him to guiding me into my career as an Elementary Music Teacher. I am retiring with 40 years experience and this man is still producing, still motivating, still mentoring, and still touching the lives of his students. Step back and say "Well Done" and let him keep doing what he does so very very well. Good Luck Mr. Belcher! You are a great teacher. Hopefully Nelson County will realize what a gem you are and keep you - if not, there are many systems that would love to have someone with your talent and commitment,

Mr. Belcher has such a positive impact on so many students lives that it would have such a negative impact on our community and our children if we remove him from their lives. What are we really saying to them when we punish someone so harshly after one mistake compared to so many positive contributions.

No better colleague in this business! Truly one of the best. Not sure I fully understand the situation, but it doesn't make NCPS look good.
