Jason Markle has been one of the most influential professors I've had in my three years at Northern. The two courses I took with him have truly shaped my writing style and passion for literature in ways otherwise unimaginable. To let him go would be a tremendous loss for so many of NMU's students and faculty.
I enjoyed taking his class "Literature and the Bible" last semester. I would have loved to have taken a class this semester of his too. His teaching would be throughly missed if his contract were not renewed.
Jason is an incredible and wonderful professor. He is encouraging and critical without being mean. He is funny and passionate and really pushes his students to be the best they can be. He is understanding of extenuating circumstances and I will always recommend his classes. His dismissal would be a serious loss to the university.
Jason was among the few professors at Northern to have made a lasting impact on me as a student. He taught me so much in the short semester I had with him that I'd hate to see other students miss out on the opportunity of having him as a teacher.
Jason helped me get my first piece published. He cares a lot and really helps his students learn how to revise their work so that it becomes publishable.
Get your s--- together university officials! Markle is worth whatever "loss" you're going to take. As if you didn't get enough money from the students on this campus, who by the way work their butts off to come here! NMU is already in decline, why not put the effort where it is WORTH even if it will cost a bit more!? If every professor was like Jason, there would be more than just ONE petition for ONE professor. Shame on you for letting Mr. Markle and everyone else affected by this injustice go!
Jason Markle is a dedicated instructor. His care for his students is clearly evident, and NMU is lucky to have him.

Jason Markle is a remarkalbe teacher. I've got to say that he's one of the best at NMU and NMU would be crazy to let this man go. His ablility to teach has made me a successful student here. He's very knowlegeable in mythology, the bible, and with creative writing. NMU would be losing a very valuable professor if they let him go.
