Petition to remove inappropriate content from children’s department at naugatuck Public library

I never would have imagined this book be included in a children’s library. I’m disgusted and may boycott any children’s activities until this is removed.

Children do not need to be exposed to inappropriate information.

Please remove this. We as parents should have our rights on when to make our children aware of any sexual activity.

I am in full support of removing this book from the library- specifically a low shelf in the children’s department!

Terrible!!!

There is no reason any child needs to read this book. It is a parents job to discuss sexual health with their child and there are books made to help with that but this book does none of that, in fact it is grooming a child to explore sexual perversity.

I want this book to be taken off the shelf protecting my kids in their very young age.

Little children should not be exposed to this. It's not education, it's indoctrination.

I support this petition because children deserve age-appropriate education. Inappropriate sexual content has no place in school books meant for young students.

This book is not appropriate for presentation in a library where children of all ages attend.

This book should not be in a library especially the kids section. It is traumatizing to both child and parent. Please, it is first a parent’s responsibility teach their child, what they need to know when they feel the time is right. Please take this down! Save another family from this trauma!

The Naugatuck public library is run by OUR local government. It is funded by US the taxpayer. Why are WE allowing ANY funding to go to absolute filth like this. This is taken directly from our congresswoman's website: "Jahana Hayes was a history teacher for 15 years at John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury, where she was named Waterbury Teacher of the Year, Connecticut Teacher of the Year, before going on to earn the distinction of 2016 National Teacher of the Year (NTOY). In her capacity as NTOY, Hayes traveled the country and the world as an ambassador for public education engaging stakeholders in discussions meant to improve outcomes for students." I would argue that although a petition MAY end up taking said book off of the shelf of our public library, the person that WE have put in the office as OUR representative should actually represent our views in its entirety of what our communities of children are exposed to. Especially, when the majority of her accomplishments, and achievements she has made before taking office, have been in the educational field. I formally ask everyone reading this to contact her or her office immediately with this petition. Or to take it a step further to contact her for the complete removal of this book, as well as any other books displaying anything this tasteless or disgusting. Our children have no reason to be given access to anything of this nature, in any way.

This is absolutely disgusting! Why would a child need to see any of this?? The library should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this book to be in a child's section for reading. By having this in the library is sexualizing children, absolutely despicable. Disgraceful. Should be ashamed.
