The City has just put bike lanes on Avenue Road north of Davenport. It is an absolute total mess I live on Pears Avenue which is one block north. They have white plastic poles about 3 ft high as markers attached to the roadway and now if there is a car coming out of Pears Ave and you are travelling southbound on Avenue Rd you do not have enough clearance to turn into Pears. It’s an absolute mess along with being unsightley.
You can no longer turn into the street when a car is coming out of the street as they’ve made it too narrow. Traffic is an absolute mess because of all these bike lanes.

I appreciate the use of safe bike riding, but this makes all arteries slower and there are way less places to park.

Remove those bike lanes - this climate and city is not built for it - use side walks

Lots of better places to put bike lanes than on major roads impacting cars, transit, pedestrians and local businesses.

I actually find the bike lanes make it more dangerous as it’s harder to see cyclists when you’re making a right hand turn around the line of park cars. I have personally witnessed two cyclist being hit for this very reason. Not to mention how ridiculous is that a city where It’s not possible to bike four or five months out of the year due to our cold winters now has bike lines on every major artery. It slows down traffic and leads to more congestion. Just another example of a total waste of taxpayers dollars. Totally infuriating.

It is no longer safe to go to business on bike lane streets, especially for seniors and families who need ability to drop people off.

Dangerous for bikers, people exiting cars not to mention the horrific congestion. There has to be a better way to manage biking in the city.
