Petition to Reintroduce ChatGPT (or Similar AI Tools) in a Safe, Controlled Way
Dears,
As software engineers and tech people in general, we use AI tools heavily in our daily work — for understanding legacy code, generating tests, debugging, writing documentation, and even planning tasks and features. ChatGPT has been especially valuable because it’s not just a coding assistant, but also a strong planner: it helps us break down complex tasks, structure sprints, draft designs, and adapt plans quickly when priorities change.
While Microsoft Copilot is helpful, in our experience it does not yet match ChatGPT in reasoning quality, flexibility, and general problem-solving. For many of us, this gap directly impacts our productivity and the speed at which we can deliver high-quality work.
For these reasons, we kindly ask you to reconsider enabling access to ChatGPT (under clear usage and security guidelines) so we can work more efficiently and continue improving the quality and pace of our deliverables.

From a QA perspective, ChatGPT adds significant value across the full spectrum of quality assurance activities, not just coding. It supports test automation, functional testing, root cause analysis, documentation of test cases and processes. These capabilities extend to optimizing workflows and improving coverage in ways where Microsoft Copilot falls short in delivering equivalent outcomes.
As mentioned, ChatGPT supports us not only in coding tasks but also in brainstorming, analysis, documentation, and a wide range of problem-solving activities where Microsoft Copilot does not provide comparable results.
I completely agree—Microsoft Copilot hasn’t met our expectations in terms of responses. ChatGPT demonstrates stronger reasoning and consistently anticipates what we need to accomplish.”
Chatgpt is much smarter than the copilot it can even understand the context better by just giving it a general description whereas copilot does not seem to understand the context although it has access to the code. chatgpt's user interface is also much clearer.

I respect the company’s security concerns, but limiting us to only Copilot reduces our flexibility and productivity. Allowing controlled, policy-guided access to ChatGPT without using any confidential data would let us choose the best tool for each task while still meeting security standards.
