I was a Hopkinton resident for 23 years, moved in 2022. I am a town employee of 9 years and feel what is happening to Tim Brennan and his family is so wrong. Tim is one of the good guys. He has dedicated years of service and commitment to our town. He is honest. He has integrity. He is a great cop. He is also human. He has been reprimanded and punished for his mistakes. He has admitted this and deserves the respect and trust he has earned over the years. Reinstated Tim Brennan, he is and always has been an asset to our town.

As a Hopkinton Police officer and working with Tim for over a year I can speak for most that his knowledge, leadership and overall genuine personality has had nothing but a positive effect on my policing career.
His dedication and care he shows everyday to this department and the community is an example I want to follow throughout my policing career. With Tim back it fills a missing piece we have needed for 7 months now.

I have known officer Tim Brennan for more than 20years. Tim Brennan is an outstanding person, police officer and leader. Hopkinton needs fine police officers that are good public servants and leaders of the community in which we all live. We need the keep officer Tim Brennan on our police force!

Tim did the right thing to get this girl justice by avoiding the perpetrator and going to the next level. Chain of command is important, but, justice is more important. Protect and defend people, that’s the oath.

As a graduate of Hopkinton High Class of 2008 I can attest to the professionalism, compassion, dedication and overall character of Sgt. Brennan he had personally had been a great example for myself and many students in Hopkinton High. He also (to the best of my knowledge helped me get mental health treatment and find my sobriety) I am greatful to him for the amazing role model I had downstairs from my locker and in my community.

In my opinion: Sgt Brennan made a conscientious decision, based on a flawed policy crafted by a suspected rapist, his superior. In this case he didn't choose to return the victim back to the abuser for judgement. You tell me? In the moral scoreboard: Sgt Brennan -1 / Town -0.
