Dear Board:

On behalf of AmeriCorps The Partnership to End Homelessness, we the undersigned are actively petitioning for the reinstatement of Julie Silverman to her position of the Director of the Partnership To End Homelessness.

Julie is a true asset to the AmeriCorps organization, and is the life blood of our group, The Partnership to End Homelessness. She pours her heart and soul into our group and is completely dedicated to our task of ending homelessness. She is the hardest working person we know, and she makes sure we all stay on task with her weekly emails, reminders, and even visits when we are sick. She cares. No one cares more about our group or our mission than Julie Silverman.

We sincerely hope the Board will revisit her unfair and unjust dismissal and see that a huge mistake was made in removing her from a role she has mastered and cherished for the past 7 years. She is our rock and an amazing person. Your favorable consideration of our request would be appreciated. Please reinstate her to her directorship position at once so we can effectively complete our group's goals.

Thank you for your time. It is truly appreciated.

I am very disappointed to hear about the dismissal of Julie. Having briefly served as an AmeriCorps member in the same building as her, I can attest to the dedication, selflessness and drive she put into the program. There were numerous cases where she spent her own money on members, staff and volunteers when she didn't have to. When I was struggling to pay bills as an AmeriCorp member - she did everything she could to promote my emotional well being while simultaneously advocating for better treatment of AmeriCorp members. This is woman who truly cares for other humans and I am shocked by the apathy she is being met with. I strongly urge the board to reconsider. Partnership to End Homelessness will not survive without her. She is the life blood.

Having worked with Julie in the past in various capacities, I had the chance to directly witness her ability to not only lead the Partnerships to End Homelessness AmeriCorps program well but to do it selflesly and with so much passion. Julie is a huge asset to this organization and not having her as a part of that team would be a huge institutional loss and a destabilizing force to current and future members.

I served as an AmeriCorps member under Julie's management in 2016/2017 and supervised several AmeriCorps members serving under Julie. She has always been passionate, caring, well organized, and a great communicator. I can not imagine a scenario that would have justified letting her go. Please reconsider.

Dear Past and Present AmeriCorps Partners, The Servant Center’s Board of Directors has received correspondence sharing support for and requesting the reinstatement of Julie Silverman as The Servant Center’s Director of the AmeriCorps Partnership to End Homelessness program. We want to re-assure you that it is the Board’s and management’s top priority to ensure that the AmeriCorps program will continue to provide valuable experiences for members and service to the community as it has the last 11 years. We acknowledge and appreciate your thoughts on this matter and hope you understand we are not at liberty to discuss personnel matters. We want you to know that the decision was not made lightly, was based on Servant Center policy and was made in consultation with the Board and an HR Consultant. This decision was made properly and is in the best interest of The Servant Center. Again, we appreciate your feedback and thank you for providing much needed services to those experiencing and at-risk for homelessness in our community. Julie Silverman is genuinely one of the best supervisors I have ever had. Julie has always gone above and beyond what was asked or required of her to take care of us AmeriCorps members. Julie being my supervisor is something that I’ve honestly considered as a “perk” of being in AmeriCorps. She’s extremely caring, kind, professional, ethical, and always ensures that the job is done.
