Actions have consequences. The left, including Susannah Bartlow, have tried so very hard to turn everything upside down in the name of "social justice" . Wake up, killing cops is not OK, and certainly not to be celebrated

I am deeply disturbed and sincerely disappointed with Marquette University's actions. Marquette should be a place that welcomes open dialogue to ensure equality and foster a dynamic and rich learning experience from multiple perspectives.

Dr. Bartlow is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever had the pleasure to know, and she is an absolute asset to any institution who has the good sense to hire her. Please do not scapegoat one of your best assets to cover for the mistakes of MU administrators.

While working at UW-Milwaukee, I was very impressed with all of the work that Dr. Susannah Bartlow did at Marquette. As a graduate of Notre Dame, I think it is incredibly important for Catholic universities to support centers like the GSRC and the invaluable work they do.

I am a 2010 MU Alum. My experiences at Marquette as a member of the LGBT community are evidence enough to me that Dr. Bartlow should remain a member of the Marquette community. In it's best light, MU challenged me to "care for the whole person" and "be the difference." On its worst days, those were mere platitudes waving on cloth banners --empty promises spewed to make me feel better about the sexist, homophobic, racist climate surrounding me. I witnessed some sea-changes in my time at Marquette. I know there's potential. I know its social justice roots provide a solid opportunity to truly "be the difference," rather than oppressing it.

Dr. Bartlow helps represent and give a voice to a portion of the student body that is very much in the minority. As an alum, class of 2013, I am very disappointed with the rash way Marquette has acted. John McAdams, a very abusive and bigoted suspended faculty member, should not hold this much sway with the hierarchy of the school.

It's insane to me that Marquette urges you to "be the difference" yet admonishes the actions of those who do just that. Susannah Bartlow is the epitome of an incredible teacher, inside and out of the classroom. She simultaneously challenges and enlightens you and is such a pure person. This was a huge mistake made by Marquette.

we cannot let McAdams be our moral barometer. The firing of Dr Bartlow undermines academic freedom, the involvement of faculty and students in the shape of the university, AND the agreement made between administration and the board of the gender and Sexuality Resource Center.

This news is absolutely heart-breaking. Dr. Bartlow has accomplished so much at Marquette and has positively impacted so may lives, including my own. She is such a positive influence on our community and truly encourages students to grow, reflect, and learn. Losing Dr. Bartlow's presence on our campus is tragic and I strongly urge the administration to reconsider their decision.

Back when I was a Marquette student, I worked closely with the administration to set up the GSRC. It was something they were very eager to complete at the time. I thought that much of what Dr Bartlow did for the university was overwhelmingly positive. I find it incredibly disappointing to hear how the administration is handling things, now. I sincerely hope they change their minds on this issue.

Bartlow is a beautiful human- she enlightened and saved many students lives! I understand if she doesn't want to come back to MU given her treatment but I at least want her to know how valuable she is to us; give her the option to return and if she does not return, to know that she has had a tremendous impact on us- or me, as a student. And I never got to really use her resources in the GRSC. Her planning of woman's day, classroom visits and stop and hello talks in the hallway are appreciated. The quote is beautiful and Bartlow shouldn't be fired!
