This shop was invaluable to me and the other Surface Pattern students when I was doing my degree. It would be a great loss to students and the public..it was so handy to just pop in to get things when you needed them and were busy working. Please keep it open. Maybe it could be advertised more as most of the public probably don't know it's open to them.

I cannot comprehend this decision. It will severely restrict creative spontaneity. Instead of students suddenly having a creative idea that they can immediately put into practice they will have to decide to order the materials online or travel to Hanley - dampening that immediate creative spark. And at a time when Executive positions are being replaced and senior management positions are being created both on large salaries - I feel this really sends out the wrong message on the priorities of the University.

I have been using the art shop since my student days over 20 years ago!! This is such a valuable resource, please don't allow it to close. Staff in the shop always offer advice on choice and use of materials and will order in items they don't stock.

When we promote our Art Courses at Recruitment Events we use our Art Shop as a USP - if this closes we can't do this!
