This shop was a vital life line in the production of my course work during my Surface Pattern degree. Jo always sources high quality equipment which I feel is essential to any of the art art/graphics based courses. It will have a major impact on these courses if it shuts.

I find it appalling the majority of students at staffordshire uni are paying extortionate fees to be there yet how is an art student supposed to complete projects without sufficent supplies. Sort it out staffs, a media student wouldn't be expected to complete projects without use of the media center and renting of equipment.

This would be a bad decision because it acts as a social hub as well as access to art supplies where few alternatives exist. It is about access and community which should be inpartant to

As a graduate, and former tutor and external examiner at Staffordshire University I feel this decision would be extremely detrimental to the learning of the art and design students at Staffs. Don't do it.

As an ex student when asked about my course and time at Staffordshire university one of the things I regularly mention is the extensive range of resources made available to creative student and the opportunity to discover new mediums. If the art shop is closed that will be lost. Because on the art shop I learnt how to lino print, use air dry clay, use brush and ink, modrock and often asked the advice of the art shop employees on buying the bect photo paper for printing my final pieces. So my three reasons for keeping the art shop open are as follows; the art shop draws in potential students with the lure of being able to try something new, Current and future students work would be greatly affected by the closure of the art shop and finally the art shop brings in custom from outside the university. To close the art shop would be preventing students from trying new mediums and learning new things, therefore considering you claim to be a place of education I beseech you on behave of the educational vaule you are robbing from the students to keep the art shop open.
