The University Art shop was a critical and necessary source for the completion of my degree. As a mature, disabled student who commuted daily I could not have coped with the purchase and transportation of the many materials needed for my Surface Pattern Design course, particularly at End of year show when large sheets of display card are used. This applies to many of the art courses at the University. It is incomprehensible that the University are contemplating closing this valuable amenity. Many students do not have transport. It would be impossible for them to transport large materials not to mention the very reasonable prices , also an important consideration to students. I implore the University Management to reconsider this proposal.

This is disgraceful. It should be a right that the university has this. As an art student I rely on this to get materials I can afford to produce work and progress on the course. The fact that management haven't got a clue and are trying to close it is despicable.

how can you be taken seriously as a university with creative degrees when there isnt even a place to buy materials on campus!

This art shop and it's staff was another learning spce for me whilst I did my degree. Getting rid of it would be in my opinion a slap in the face to the hard work put in by all over the years. It is conventient, useful (in knowledge and items) and above all part of the university.

This is a crazy idea! I'm an ex student of Staffs Uni and there really is nowhere, locally, to buy the same range of materials at such good STUDENT prices! This would be a disaster and WILL have a detrimental affect on students work and grades, don't do it!

Why would you do something which effectively prohibits students from gaining the best possible degree outcomes? Buying on sure saves students time and money. Without it, I know I wouldn't been able to afford all the materials I needed to for my degree.
