Gift of Calvin N. and Martha E. Payne to the citizens of the City of Sarasota. We urge the City of Sarasota to keep its promise to enhance and expand the existing Tennis Center; and NOT sacrifice valuable park open space. PRESERVE PAYNE PARK!

Please do not take away our limited park space for another building. This is such a beautiful park and it would be a shame to put up another building. Preserve our wetlands. Preserve our green spaces. Preserve Payne Park.

My husband built Payne Park and I painted my first oil painting at that pond. SRQPAP and other groups paint there regularly.

A beautiful and useful natural park as is. Do not lessen it or destroy much of it. Keep it as PARKLAND ONLY.

Stop selling off every last bit of green space in our city. City parks are essential for community and family life as well as space for wildlife. Not everything in this town should be for sale.

I strongly oppose Payne Park as site for Orchestra. As a local resident I use the tennis facilities and playground with my grandchildren. It is a local oasis.

An attempt to despoil a public park for the benefit of the few privileged elite. Disgusting.

I am not sure of the history behind keeping the Sarasota Orchestra within Sarasota city limits, but please do not remove green space and wound a popular public park in the process. I'm sure other suitable non-park land can be acquired elsewhere. Maybe in the Rosemary district. Because I live just south of the city boundary, I cannot help thinking about other possible locations southbound on the Tamiami Trail. The greater Sarasota area is not so large that there would be a question about inconvenient travel.

I am a home owner who lives three blocks from Payne Park. Payne Park is a unique green space best suited for recreation. The future is not with an Orchestra Hall, but rather, expanding recreational opportunities such as the Legacy Trailhead.

Bocce and shuffleboard .... adding more public outdoor activities to a park would be great as originally suggested when park was built

I live just a 5 minute walk and am a member of the Payne Park tennis club and frequently run and walk in Payne Park.

So far the Van Wezel plans to build a larger theatre in the new Bayfront arts district and there are no plans for the Van Wezel building. The most iconic building there. Where is this discussion?
