Cultural heritage and a history of stewardship that protects groundwater, surface water flow and native vegetation need to respected and protected. Please maintain the RL-436 property lease with the Ruiz Family.

Please honor the Ruiz family by extending their lease in perpetuity. LADWP, please stop doing harm and making "deal" that threaten our valley! Thank you.

Unfortunately, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the Owens Valley are again reaching adversarial positions again. This is not the only ranch lease that is being threatened. Please renew the Ruiz lease and the other valley ranchers' leases.

Please let the Ruiz family keep their lease. Their stewardship is honorable.

This land is mitigation for the loss of agricultural land after DWP put in the second aqueduct. They are required to irrigate using 5 acre feet, and to keep this in pasture. The Ruiz family has maintained this land in good condition for many years before the mitigation was put in place, and continued to do so after the Water Agreement/EIR was approved by the Court. It is simply common sense and good environmental practice that the Ruiz family be able to continue to lease this land. LADWP needs to STOP trying to make ranching and businesses uneconomic in the Owens Valley by changing their lease terms. You already have our water. Isn't that enough?

I support the Ruiz family for keeping their lease. There is already far too much land greed in this valley.

DWP once again shows its colonial ignorance and lack of respect for communities, culture and family economies in the Owens Valley. There is no stability for the ranching economy of the Owens Valley if family leases stretching back decades can be terminated without cause at DWP's whim. Supervisors stand up and show your balls!

This family has leased this land as long as I can remember and then some. Why change now. The land is being respected and used properly.

The lease has been in this family's name for years, this family has been in Inyo Couny for decades. Let them keep this small lease! Quilt taking land from Inyo County residents!
