This blanket rule is just wrong. Every sign has a story and a family behind it.

My dad always pointed out the honorary signs when we drove by. That history matters to our kids too.

Evanston can find room for new honorees without erasing the ones already up there. Keep the old signs up.

There should be some kind of community review before anything gets removed. Too many folks worked hard for those honors.

This is absolutely egregious that this is being done to the families of those that have dedicated their lives to serving the Evanston community! There HAS to be a better way of solving this issue!

PLEASE slow down and let residents weigh in. Taking them down without a real process feels disrespectful.

The legacy leaders of Evanston where their names are written on different street in Evanston are one of the main reasons why the Evanston community come together. It is their character, value and care for people of our Evanston community. This care has changed and cultivated the lives like my own and the lives of my family members. There are deep roots that never er run dry. Therefore their names should never come down. Please add to and make room for up and coming leaders and build on the foundation that has already been set. It is individuals like, Mrs. Holmes, Mr. Hecky Powell, Pastor Curry, Mrs. Morton and Pastor Dillard who have shaped and is shaping the lives of US.
