Honoring our leaders is important. Taking down signs without a discussion is disrespectful. Please do better. How does a person warrant two signs on the same street? Do better

I throughly agree that removal should or could occur but there should be a clear passage for this process, and not to allow capricious removal based upon a scheduled period of time. Maybe there should be a more thorough process for selection so removal can be as meaningful as the establishment of the sign placement.

Can the city council stop with the petty and get down to business like… prune the trees, fill in holes and pave streets and fix speed bumps, provide enough public trash receptacles, update parks. Develop policy to get all these horrible landlords with terminally empty storefronts to get renters pr pay penalties that hurt deep pockets, fix fountain square and on and on and…

Also note: I have not forgotten the pushback against naming a school after Lorraine Morton, despite her considerable contributions to Evanston because it previously had been named for a white Evanstonian.
Let's make sure that the process for street naming and street name removal doesn't open the way for racism. Community input is critical, especially when the process to get a street named for someone takes community input and effort.

It would be a disgrace, disrespect, & huge disregard for the history of why the honorees were put on the signs; in the first place. To remove the names of Allen "Bo" Price...Bishop Carliss Moody...Delores Holmes...and other persons who have contributed so significantly
and positively to the community, would be removing a visible marker of their contribution. Perhaps the conversation should be about how to make those honorees a permanent fixture by putting them on historical markers in the community .
