Petition to oppose St. Mary's HUD housing on Main Street

We purchased a home in town just over a year ago because we loved the small town atmosphere and the people and businesses here. I had to buy a home that was in poor condition but we have invested into it. This project makes no sense from an infrastructure perspective. No proposed planning for parking, we do not have the utilities and emergency services to support this. I love this town, please do not let it's spirit be destroyed.

Already an issue getting the elderly to their appointments. It will be impossible during the snow days since everyone is parking on the road. Already we have a parking issue downtown with college students. If this were really about elderly housing, you’d try to improve the current living conditions and transportation to appointments. We all know within 3yrs when this company doesn't have enough tenants, it’ll be open to low income individual. Put a community parking lot there or require college kids to buy parking permits for the lots around town. Always about making money never about improving the community

I believe that we already have enough issues with parking space and and the college slacking on holding their students accountable for parking 2 miles down the road and leaving their car there for 2 months, I absolutely refuse to support these lofts being built if the town can't even assess and attend to the problems at hand.... I hope that others agree with me as well

Not enough resources to care for the people that would live. Xenia,Dayton and Springfield would be a much better option.

I don't live in Cedarville so I don't know if this counts, but I wouldn't wish this on any community

One variance applied was a five feet setback from the curb, this is a three story building, can you think what a building taller than all the buildings in Cedarville except the Opera House would look like? Our town would kill any small town look if we allowed this development. Again a 5 feet set back is unacceptable, please measure five feet and look up 3 stories sunlight will only hit the road when straight overhead

In addition where are these low income people going to get the services they need when Cedarville is so far from them?

Our town does not have the amenities needed for grocery shopping and medical doctors.

Will definitely attend the meeting on 3/3/25

I don't think it would be fair the potential residents of this project to have this kind of housing in our small town which would have very limited ways to meet their basic needs. (Grocery, Dr. offices, transportation, miscellaneous shopping, etc.)

This project does not align with the direction the village is trying to move towards!

Not what our community needs

We do not need or want this housing in our village.

This is not good for the village or it's citizens.
