6-8yrs of a Fellowship diploma of NPMCN, WACP or WACS is academically far more above a 3yr PhD certificate

We must stand up and be counted now. The medical profession is at the receiving end of unfair, envious and unjustifiable attacks from people who feel inferior by their positions.

NMDCN the regulator of medical practice in Nigeria should be allowed to determine the standard for both undergraduate and postgraduate training. NUC does not have expertise in any specialty, but must depend on the standards set by the regulators of those profession. That is not taking away the importance of NUC as the regulator of the university system, but that must be done for each discipline with the understanding and agreements with the end product regulator who are in the field and keep abreast with the latest developments in those fields. NUC cannot honestly claim to be constantly in tune with latest developments in each discipline, no matter how much they try.
