Ascendigo Autism Services has submitted a land use change application to Garfield County. The purpose of the application is to allow Ascendigo to operate a year-round camp with lodging, dining, and indoor/outdoor recreational facilities and includes such uses as fund raising events, short term rentals and seminar space on 126 acres of land in Missouri Heights. Keep Missouri Heights Rural (KMOHR), a Colorado nonprofit corporation organized by impacted residents, is working to oppose this project because the development will mark a drastic change from the rural, agricultural, and residential uses in the immediate neighborhood of Missouri Heights and will pave the way for other non-residential uses to infiltrate the area.
Please show your support for KMOHR’s cause and your opposition to Ascendigo’s proposed development by signing electronically.
This petition will be presented to the Garfield County Board of County Commissioners at the public hearing regarding Ascendigo’s application. We urge you to attend that hearing to voice your opposition directly to our Commissioners.

I just blinked and saw the number five hundred staring back at me which is honestly just surreal considering how quickly this all started picking up steam. My kitchen table is covered in maps of the ranch and notes from neighbors who are just as worried as I am about what this development does to our quiet, peaceful life in the Heights.

Totally inappropriate location for a project of this size. County needs to listen to the people who actually live here.
I moved here for the peace and quiet. We dont need lodging and seminar spaces popping up in the middle of our community.
Traffic on these roads is already bad enough during school times. Adding a big facility like this will be a nightmare for the locals.
Why do they want to ruin the character of Missouri Heights? Its beautiful here because it isnt developed. Leave it alone.
This is a quiet residential area. Not the place for a massive commercial campground and event center. Keep it rural please.

STOP THE OVERDEVELOPMENT. Once you allow this it opens the door for everything else to follow. Keep our neighborhood rural.
