Petition to Oppose 7-Eleven and Gas Station at the Entrance to Del Webb Minneola

This letter expresses strong opposition to the proposed development of a 7-Eleven or Circle K around or in proximity to the entrance to the Dell Webb community. This type of establishment is inappropriate for this location. A convenience store operating 24/7 could disrupt the peace and quiet enjoyed by residents. Additional traffic, especially late at night, could create safety concerns and negatively impact the residential nature of the neighborhood. There is also a serious concern for increased crime rates associated with these establishments, as studies show a correlation between the density of such outlets and crime rates. Such a development would diminish the aesthetic appeal of the community. A large, brightly lit convenience store with signage and parking lots does not align with the character the Dell Webb Minneola community strives to maintain. The detrimental effects of this proposal on the community's well-being and property values should be considered. Studies have shown a negative correlation between proximity to convenience stores and residential property values. Thank you for your time and consideration. The wishes of the residents and the long-term well-being of the community should be prioritized when making a decision on this matter. Information on the procedures for public participation at upcoming meetings would be appreciated.
