We cannot and should not isolate our children any longer...we need to really consider their mental heath and the long term effects of not having access to structured learning for so long.

My kids need to have the structure and socialization that school can provide. They will fail if they are forced to do virtual learning.

Open the schools for the sake of the children.

I think online instruction is fine if they have it where the teacher does virtually with the students at a certain time because my daughter needs help with her homework when she doesn’t understand it. She did horrible last year.

No solutions were offered to households where both parents are essential workers putting in long hours. I support parents who want to keep their children home but I can not cram a days worth of school work into a few evening hours. That is not a productive learning environment for my child. You sent out a survey for parental input, please listen to us.

Disappointed in this decision. Surveys went out for public input which the board ignored entirely.

After reviewing the video of the meeting. I believe the board missed the other more concerning factors of mental health and over all well being of the younger kids with too much focus on the singular hysteria of covid.

My big thing is What is the reason why the votes 7-0 on this. Is there no company to “deep clean” what is the deal?

Children need to be in school learning. Many pediatricians and the CDC recommend in school instruction for our kids. It is very frustrating as a parent when the survey sent out to us was overwhelming for children to be in school and the school board voted 7-0 against. Obviously they really don't care what the parents of Lodi feel is important to their child's learning and how down to the teachers union. It is very frustrating trying to find schooling for my two girls when as a parent I don't feel the online learning g was successful last spring!

At least a choice or real time teacher instruction.

School can be safely opened according to the CDC. My grandchildren want to be in school. We all want what is best for our children. We saw signs all over Lodi that "We love our seniors". Let's care about the rest of the students as well.

During the meeting it was mention the fear of starting school and maybe things get bad after three or four weeks, then we would have to jump into online learning . My thought is, the school did a great job implementing online classes last Spring. Sure there were a few things to work out but you did it without any preparation. It got done. Now we have a pattern to go by. So lets open our schools, at least half time and see what happens. I am willing to volunteer to help with whatever I can. Ask parents to drive some kids to school if busing is a problem to relieve over crowding. Ask for others to volunteer to help the teachers if they have to do in school and online at the same time. Depression in our children is as real as the covid virus. The virus to children are just words they keep hearing from adults. The Depression is in them due to the lack of normalcy in their life. Our kids are becoming unattached from their lives. It's killing them faster than covid.

Myself and my household are in favor of in person learning for our daughter.
