"The best available evidence from countries that have opened schools indicates that COVID-19 poses low risks to school-aged children, at least in areas with low community transmission, and suggests that children are unlikely to be major drivers of the spread of the virus. Reopening schools creates opportunity to invest in the education, well-being, and future of one of America’s greatest assets—our children—while taking every precaution to protect students, teachers, staff and all their families." https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/reopening-schools.html

Our 3 grandchildren who attend Lodi Schools are ready to get back into the classroom (with Covid restrictions) for the Fall semester. Surely at a minimum a hybrid solution can be put in place that will benefit students and teachers alike. Respectfully yours,
James Baron (and Dorothea McCarthy, Great Grandmother)

I am very much concerned about students suffering from depression due to the Board's decision, and I suspect suffering from depression will be more widespread than contracting COVID. I take neither depression nor COVID lightly, but this decision needs to be reversed.

please reconsider primary school face to face attendance and focused learning, at least pastime. 1/2 days, 2-3 days a week. Very important learning time at that age and as a parent, i am not skilled to teach my child. Covid is researched and is shown to not likely be spread by children, but by teens and adults. Primary kids can be safely taught in face to face instruction. Please do more research before you make final decisions. Not all grade levels need to be taught the same. Please adjust accordingly for each school and each grade.

I am so disappointed in Lodi right now. My daughter is going into kindergarten this year. We are failing her. The Lodi school is failing her. Make it right. Let her go to school at least part time. She is currently in rolled in class summer school. How can we possibly say it’s safe enough for summer school classes but not regular classes. My husband and I are essential workers and have been working very hard this whole time. Is Lodi going to punish my daughter and let her fall behind because she has hard working parents?!

Offer open school for only those how want it! Not to force all parents, but open school for parents that need it, due to working full time. And not having the time to teach kids. School is essential for at of kids. To have the needed education for growing minds.

We need to get our lives back. Corona is temporary, our high school memories last a life time.

Many other schools around us are going back and have extra curriculars still going. I think it’s important to continue face to face education and stay in school to see people and learn better.

I am all for safety but you also have families trying to survive. Many parents work and are not able to take on the schooling of their children.
