Have 4 kids that attend WFB schools. Need to be in school. All these other schools can do it. Basic infection control and school-based mitigation strategies reduce the risk of COVID-19 in that environment. Minimal risk. Really disappointed in this district and its staff.

I'm signing this petition because I see the inequality and hypocrisy involved in children not being in school. Children and young adults in Whitefish Bay are being left behind and unable to compete academically with children in Brookfield, Cedarburg and Oconomowac, whose schools have been open 5 days face to face, for months . The silent majority who want schools open five days have been quitely leaving WFB public schools for private schools, this is creating instability and also less funding in the future for public schools. The majority has been quite because the loud minority shames anyone who feels kids should be back in school 5 days. It's important to note, a lot of the ones doing the shaming have enjoyed the benefits of OTHER people exposing themselves to the virus, in order for their services to be met. There are multiple examples of this but to name a few, amazon workers delivering non-essential packages, the hiring private tutors or teachers, having kids in multiple sports, traveling, and going to bars and restaurants. Keeping kids in social isolation is flat out abuse.

The support for opening schools is encouraging and we hope to make a difference with this! Many of our students have learned how to write "persuasive essays" this year. Please take a little time to have your child write a persuasive essay/email about why they should be in school. Sign it with their age and grade, and send it to our board members. Our children can be a part of change as well.

I think this is best for the kids, if continued to be done in a safe manner.

I believe it is in the child’s best interest to be in school. Proper sanitation, mask wearing, air filtration and social distancing can be practiced with effort and education.

Imperative to get kids back to school full time in person.
The science around spread at school is not debatable. It’s clear that transmission is a non event.
As others have pointed out , it’s also embarrassing to see all the neighborhood districts run 5d in person while students and their parents suffer with this BS of 2/5 days in school.
Please take the sensible road and allow in person school to resume 5 days a week

Schools around the world have managed to send their kids back to school since September! Why can’t we! If we can keep hospitals safe surely we can keep schools safe. There is no scientific data to suggest keeping kids in school creates a super spread. Please don’t let our children suffer because we willing enough to keep our schools safe.

1. This petition is just ONE indicator that the decision-makers of WFB are losing the confidence of parents.
2. Parents are feeling frustrated that their voice is ignored when balanced with other stakeholders
3. Losing parental support will lead to losing overall taxpayer support, which has long-term implications for the school district, WFB, and our kids!

Thank you for creating this petition. With the data we now have it is clear that the risk is extremely low and the damage caused by keeping kids away from school is real.

As an Emergency Room Physician who has been working full-time during all of this, it is my professional medical opinion that children of all grade levels should be back in school five days a week.
