Would like to see this carry over for our older students in middle and high school too. They are vulnerable, suffering, and the continued isolation can have long lasting effects.

Worth noting that many neighboring PUBLIC school districts have been in-person, 5 days/week since the start - it’s not just the private ones. Why has the WFB school district NOT been able to offer 5 day/week schooling, while Mequon-Thiensville (and many other surrounding suburban districts) have? Why has Mequon been able to problem solve and staff their schools properly, while WFB has not?
Also worth noting that I am paying $55 per day, per child, for my kids to attend Richards on asynchronous Wednesdays. If Richards is safe for WFB rec staff (being exposed to Cohort AA and BB together), can’t it also be safe for teachers?
Finally, the WFB district chose to allow athletics to continue in cohorts that are similar in size to a full elementary school classroom. (There are 26 players on the WFB basketball roster.) If athletics are safe with a 26 person cohort, why can’t the district figure out and prioritize the educational aspect too?

I have children in 3rd & 4th grade. Their social well being and the quality of education has been sacrificed too long. There are enough safety measures that can be in place to keep them healthy (masks, hand washing, distance) & still return to school in person full time.
Leaving faculty members out of this vote is quite honestly shameful. I am not opposed to reopening elementary schools; I am FOR ensuring that all stakeholders, most especially the teachers, be heard. Continuing to offer the virtual option is nice, but has anyone asked the teachers, whose workload at minimum doubles? Using France and England as examples does not support this claim because yes, they are on a strict lockdown, leading to better outcomes in the schools. We are not on any such lockdown, so I don't understand this logic.

What we are doing is not following facts and our kids are suffering. All non political facts point to kids being better off in person. If you want to still offer virtual as an option, that is fine but let our kids get back to school. They are still mingling outside of school. Makes zero sense!

Equally important that middle and schoolers are back in person full time. There have been fewer cases at that level than the elementary level according to the dashboard on district site.

It is equally as important for kids over the age of 12 to return to full time in person school. They are suffering just as much as younger children, socially, emotionally and academically. They are old enough to follow the rules and have done so since September. Thank you!
