PETITION TO MAYOR & BOARD OF ALDERMAN OF THE CITY OF WINONA CONCERNING CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, HEREBY PETITION THE MAYOR & BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WINONA, MISSISSIPPI TO DECLARE A STATE OF EMERGENCY WITHIN THE JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF WINONA IN RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC.
WE HEREBY ALSO PETITION THE MAYOR & BOARD OF ALDERMEN TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING REASONABLE ACTIONS:
1. ESTABLISH A CURFEW TO PROMOTE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
2. DIRECT THE WINONA POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ENFORCE THE AFOREMENTIONED CURFEW TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW.
3. DEFINE ESSENTIAL AND NON- ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.
4. LIMIT ENTRANCE TO NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES TO NO MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE AT ANY GIVEN TIME, INCLUDING EMPLOYEES OF SAID BUSINESS.
WE BELIEVE IN GOOD FAITH THE ABOVE PETITIONED ACTIONS WILL HELP CONTAIN THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 BY LIMITING UNNECESSARY SOCIAL INTERACTIONS.

I work at sonic and I'm a copd patient and it scares me to come out.i been off work since sat due to strep and up po er respiratory problems but makes me more easier to catch it please shut it down.
We have no request for a specific time— That is to be determined by the Mayor & Board of Aldermen as they see fit. Other municipalities across the state of Mississippi have commonly adopted 8PM-5AM, with the exception of those traveling to and from their place of work, medical emergencies, and law enforcement.
Been time for everything before the whole country get it.

We need rules in place for social distancing because people are not listening, especially our youth! Some of these businesses need to shut down that are not essential!! We have to try and control this, flatten the curve!
