We, the undersigned, call on HIMSS leadership to recognize Juneteenth as an official holiday for all employees. Juneteenth
commemorates the end of slavery and the beginning of independence in the United
States. Recognizing Juneteenth as an official holiday will honor this important event and show HIMSS's commitment to equality, inclusion, and justice.
Reaching this level of visibility has been an exhausting climb but seeing the momentum grow confirms we are on the right path. I am tired of waiting for leadership to acknowledge this necessity yet your persistence keeps me moving forward.

As someone from outside America, I find this day to be meaningful, and also a day where people can rest and reflect on how far America has come.

I would love to see Juneteenth as a HIMSS Holiday. Cultural freedom is a constant struggle for our community.
