Juneteenth is a celebration for African Americans to commemorate emancipation from slavery in Texas. Texas was the last state after the Civil War to abolish slavery. We think after all these years it’s time for Juneteenth to get federal recognition. LETS MAKE JUNETEENTH A HOLIDAY!!

YES. Celebrating freedom should have been a given a long time ago. NY needs to lead on this.
