Please guys, don't end this section. Even if you have/want not to be a part of the actual site. We all have more to gain/win than to lose. I've learned so much there.
Update the Forums with a mute option for example ( we won't see any threads or posts from a specific user ), Make an efort to evolve, don't just end it.

I love imdb gives very much hindsight abd gems on movies especially after watching them. Message board #1 reason I visit imdb. You may see a decline in Web visits, after boards are shut down. And social MEDIA is no way as interactive as the boards no where close! Please reconsider.

These wonderful boards are the _only_ place where indepth interactive discussion of specific films and TV series is currently possible. They are a fantastic service, used by most IMDB patrons all the time. Please retain them!

Please don't get rid of the message boards! It has given me such great info not found in the trivia. I love hearing stories that people have & also hearing tidbits fans have found out. I ignore the trash talk & just love the boards! Please don't get rid of them!!

As others have said, the boards are a piece of history, on-the-fly movie discussions. Shame to lose them and many of us will be disappointed. I've been going there for more than 10 years, with great enjoyment. Trolls are to be ignored, that's all.
You've got a huge audience here. Why not throw up some ads or charge a small fee if you need to, to keep it going - and weed out some trolls while you're at it. I'm sure you could find volunteer moderators, with ease, as well, if you don't charge for membership, that is.

If trolls are an issue, why not have the message boards linked to FB accounts to increase accountability?

The message boards helped me gain insights and discover things I missed in the movies. It is a major reason why I come to the site. Please keep it!

Its a shame IMDB is going to deactivate the message boards. I wil never see a trailer or click in an add on this site anymore. Amazon is really really dumb in doing this. It could be used as a social media but they too blind to see it. Its making the same dumb choices Yahoo did. Good luck with that!
