Though I did not post, reading these boards after watching a movie has become a habit for me ever since first signing up at 2002. Deleting them is completely disrespectful to all IMDB members, contributors and silent readers alike. I see no reason to go back to IMDB once they're gone.

Don't let the trolls win (I find them funny anyway)
IMDB message boards are an important social outreach for many individuals.

I have been on IMDB for years and adore the site. I am a film lover and the most exciting part of the site is the opportunity to discuss film with other users. Yes, there are trolls and nasty comments but these are everywhere on the internet. There is also a lot of worthwhile discussion taking place. Please keep the boards. Thank you Sir.

Long time user (over ten years now), pretty disappointed in this decision. The message boards are really the heart of any community IMDb claims to have. As, historically, a stalwart of the internet age, I think it's symptomatic of Amazon truly losing it's grip.

The boards have been there for 27 years and are the best place to discuss movies as they are grouped under the umbrella of each movie. If the boards go, I'll be using wikipedia for cast etc..

If people are so bothered by the negative then they don't have to go to the message boards at all. Don't let some ruin it for those of us who actually use this to get valuable information or just discuss our thoughts on movies, shows, actors, etc...

Imdb will be useless without the message boards. I will start my own film forum and use YOUR facebook page as my personal ad page if you shut down the message boards.

This board is the ONLY place where I can get answers after watching a movie and don't get parts of it. Yeah, the occasional troll that comes along sucks but there are a lot more positive answers then useless ones. Please keep the boards!

The IMDB Message Boards are highly valuable. An understated cultural treasure. The place to go to talk about movies. I've been a member for 17 years and check the message boards daily. Don't rip out this beating heart of the site.

This is about freedom of speech. In an uncertain time, where we have a President in charge who, as far as I can tell, has no interest in freedom or democracy of any kind, to bow to this kind of censorship based on the concept of hurting people's feelings is just another step towards tyranny of thought and expression. You, as one of the most powerful sites on the web, should allow voices to be heard, not close them off in fear of reprisal or hurting feelings. Find the courage within yourself to support freedom. We need it now more than ever. Thank you.

What I love about the message boards on IMDb is the boards for individual movies/series/ actor/-ess etc.
There are general movie message boards other places, but NO active boards that's specified for each movie. Especially old, unknown movies. There may be years between each entry, but it's very valuable to new fans.

I've been a member of the site for over 12 years now. The ONLY reason I spend any time on there now is because of the message boards where I can discuss old tv shows and movies that aren't being talked about anywhere else. I don't WANT to use Facebook (with my real name and info attached) to talk about media. How is that so difficult to understand?
It's FUN!
