Please reconsider. I have no other outlet to listen and speak about recent movie/shows I watch. I have been using the boards for at least 10 years I cant imagine my life without them. Yes the rolls are awful but the good outweighs the bad

The message boards are the backbone of IMDb. Please reconsider this terrible decision.

The message boards are the number one reason I visit IMDb! I also often read the reviews as well. Cast and crew, production details, trivia, etc., are definitely a secondary reason, so I'm sure I won't be visiting IMDB that much in the future...

While I have not done a forum post in over 2.5 years, I still enjoy visiting the forums. As for the trolling part, getting more moderators can help.

I visit the boards for EVERYTHING, to gain knowledge, ask and answer questions, and impart knowledge. They shutter the boards, I will delete my IMDB account. I don't have faith in this petition working, but just in case.... I think everyone who signs this should share all over social media.

Every time I watch a movie, old or new, I check the message boards to pick up tidbits of insight or clarify something. If you close this down I will really miss it!!!

i find the message boards the most useful aspect of imdb. the non-message board information is stuff that is readily available elsewhere, but the message boards contain information that usually is not available elsewhere. please do not shut down the most informative aspect of your site.

as a user of this website for nearly 15 years i was shocked that your company has made the decision to remove the message boards, these boards are the main reason i choose IMDB over cometitors such as Wikipedia which offer the same information but without the personal opinions of other movie lovers, i think this is a HUGE business mistake

I am REALLY bummed they are shutting down the boards for IMDB. That is part of my daily (or at the very least, weekly) ritual for watching movies on TCM, especially during "31 Days to Oscar". As soon as the movie comes on, I'm looking to see what other people have said over the years about the movie, and pointing out certain plot points, etc. It is absolutely essential to my enjoyment of movies, which comprises about 85% of my entertainment. My husband and I don't take trips -- we watch TV. And IMDB has always been an integral part of that. I'm really upset about this.

Closing down the messageboards? I know there is alot of trolls but honestly who cares. One of the reasons i go to imdb as often i do is because of the messageboards, without them i will most likely only log on to the page every month or so, but today i go there almost everyday.

It's crazy that they want to take a step BACK in 2017! They claim we can comment on Facebook, but that's not the same. With the message boards if you have a specific question about a specific movie or actor you go to THAT message board. If you write a question on Facebook it will just be one of many. And it will get lost! I do not support this decision!

PLEASE keep the message boards. They are a great way to learn about the movies we love (or hate) and connect with other film fans. Thank you.

The boards are a great place to come together and talk about films. I have learned a lot about film through the boards. I know there has been some negative comments, but you'll get that anywhere. Just look at YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. They're not shutting down because of negative comments. Even thinking about it now, IMBD's message boards are far better off than all the platforms I mentioned above. Please don't shut down a good thing.

I find the message boards a complementary function to the more formal reviews and other sections. They provide snippets of insight and fun chat. I wonder if the owners have underestimated the effect shutting down the boards will have. I suspect they have. I certainly will spend less time on the website, as there will be less of a reason to visit.
