The message boards mean a great deal to quite a few people. I check IMDB everyday. But my primary interest is the boards. If IMDB/Amazon continues with this plan, I and many, many others will have absolutely no reason to visit your site any more. I have been a loyal IMDB supporter for decades and this corporate decision made for dubious reasons (trolls--really??!) has left me heartbroken. I strongly urge you not to alienate your strongest supporters and most frequent visitors to your site .

Please leave the message boards. Get moderators to delete inappropriate posts, but please leave the real commentaries that actually benefit people.

This would be a huge mistake to disable the IMDB message boards. I come to the website almost daily to look up stats, get info on stars but most importantly to view other viewer's comments of TV shows or movies. To me this is the most important part of IMDB. Without the boards why else would I visit there.

The IMDB message boards are an invaluable resource. I always investigate a movie by looking through the threads that pertain to it. I know there are a lot of trolls that add nothing to the discussion but strife....but there are plenty of thoughtful, intelligent folks who have wonderful insights to share. I have learned so much. I also do not do facebook, etc....and will sorely miss the IMDB message boards.

Don't get rid of the boards! If money is needed to keep them going, ask for donations! They greatly enrich film and television productions by giving fans a place to ask questions and answer them. Please!

The message boards are the main reason I use IMDb. It's the only place I've been able to find regular people commenting about the finer points of films, plot holes, questions of interpretation, and more. If the boards are shut down, I'll go elsewhere for my movie information.

All they ever needed to do was MODERATE the boards. The only reason they became toxic is because toxic behavior was left totally unchecked. They refuse to lift a finger to clean up the boards, then simply pull the plug when the trolls take over. That's cutting off a finger to fix a hangnail. You pick out the bad apples, you don't chop down the tree

Like it or hate it. IMDB is a platform for freedom of speech. Just like anywhere else, you are bound to find trolls, dissenting opinions and people who are just too brutally honest.
More importantly. IMDB is an open platform for the audience to critique movies and share ideas. From a filmmakers and content creators point of view, the IMDB message boards are also a valuable resource.
