Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

The IMDb message boards provide a great means of getting real time information on my favorite shows, and those in the past that I miss! News, cancelled programs, what's out of DVD - please don't shut it down!

Please do not get rid of the IMDB message boards. I spend much time there after every movie I watch to engage in discussions, to read of other's opinions, to see what I may have missed, to explore other movies, to find interviews and more info. They are a huge part of why IMDB is so successful. Please do not get rid of or close them.

I need messageboard

The message boards are the only reason I frequent IMDB.

I will miss them if they are gone. It's always fun to read other people's thoughts on certain people, ideas, scenes, characters, etc., to see what they think and gain a new perspective.

Please keep the message board open

I always come to the boards before, during or after watching ANY movie or ANY tv series you can imagine, and it's really useful to clear up unanswered questions, see opinions from other people who have watched it, discuss it, etc. IMDB will be destroyed if they delete the boards.

Laziness and fascism at its best.

I always go to the IMDB message boards for some answers to some questions I may have after seeing a particular movie. I will sorely miss this feature on IMDB.com!

While I don't post many comments on the board, I do however love to read what others have posted about the films, which I want to find information. This board gives new and interesting insights to our favourite movies!

I have been an IMDB member for 11 years. The boards are the first place I head to when I want opinions on movies, or have questions. If the boards are gone, I doubt I will spend anytime on the site.

The boards are a great source of information for me, it's very sad they are going to close. I hope IMDB will reconsider! Alex

While I can understand your desire to terminate the message boards, the actions of a few should not cause "the baby to be thrown out with the bath water." Surely there must be another cost effective way to minimize those who abuse the current system, and I hope that you'll at least delay your decision for a period of time to investigate an alternative path.

So much great informatio. Can be found on the message boards that it is a shame if they disappear. Using Facebook and Twitter is just not the same.

Why would you close off the best thing about your site?

I am a life-long movie fan. I used to buy annual updates to Leonard Maltin's movie catalogue until I discovered iMDB. This feature is now 50% of why I access iMDB an average of 5 days every week. I love comments about Classic movies. My use and enjoyment of iMDB will be greatly reduced after 2/20, unless this petition changes the plans.

I love IMDb, it's very imformative. But the message boards are a big and important part of this site. You might be making a big mistake here, since some people will stop using the site. I witill use it, but I think the message boards should stay, just take this out only on trolls, surely there must be another way... :)

only reason i love imdb.

I ONLY got to IMDB for the message boards. I don't have time for social media like Facebook. Plus, I am a teacher so I need the boundaries from social media sites. Forcing people like me to use Facebook or other social media sites just to learn about my favorite shows is exclusive.
