I think the messageboards should not be removed. A lot of people use these messageboards to ask questions and share their thoughts about movies, actors, directors and the entertainment industry. Moreover, It's easier to keep track of your posts and threads - unlike facebook. Yes there are trolls but you also find them everywhere especially in social media. There are a lot more trolls on facebook! I'm sure there are ways to minimize these trolls. Save the messageboards!

I can go to Wikipedia, Box Office Mojo, Google, or a million other sites to find out information about movies and tv. Now, there is no where to discuss them. That's a shame, and IMDb's traffic will suffer.

Ive only just discovered this sad news and I'm honestly in shock. Why does this have to happen? What possible benefit would IMBD get from such an extreme act? YouTube comment section is the most toxic place on the net yet Google will never eradicate it. Myself and hundreds of thousands depend on the messagboards, I've been frequently visiting the boards for at least 12 years. I have many great memories. Please don't let the trolls win. I sincerely hope IMDB reconsiders their drastic decision.
