Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

I've been posting on the IMDB message boards for 15 years, and the majority of posters use them for legitimate discussion. To let a small faction of trolls ruin it for everyone is absolutely absurd. Shutting down the message boards means the trolls have won. Not a good look.

Please keep the boards, I absolutely love reading them!

Please don't do this. It is one of the first things I do after watching a movie, I go to the message boards and see what others think. A review is not the same. Often threads are about one particular thing or question.

The message boards are the best thing about imdb!

This is the only place to talk about films ,old and new, to gain insight, to see other peoples opinion, to clarify a point or to better understand a movie. You mention twitter,(dont have it), snapchat (what is that) and pinterest, how do you discuss a movie on pinterest or facebook? . Really aggravating to take away a wonderful forum for passionate moviegoers. shame on you.

The message boards are the main reason I visit IMDB

I enjoy reading others' commentary on shows and movies I'm watching. Having it all on IMDb puts it in one convenient place! Don't get rid of it! Please reconsider! Have the ability for users to become a moderator by contributions or something.

Please reconsider removing the message boards.

This place saved me when TWoP blind sided me and shut down. Keeps me sane when I'm on day 3 of insomnia. It's easy to block stuff you don't wanna see. Haters gonna hate wherever you go. Volunteer Mods work...I will volunteer

Gobsmacked when I learned you were discontinuing the message boards! Please, please consider keeping that forum. Your site is such an amazingly complete resource for everything film and television. The message board format is always my "dessert;" I love to see not only what other's opinions are, but the historical tidbits about directors, actors, etc—many of which would be impossible to know about otherwise—round out the experience of insight. Please reconsider.

IMDB wouldn't be the same without the message boards!

Please take this petition to heart and understand that some of us are stuck in our old ways and would prefer to not to go into new technologies. We use these and love them dearly!

I only use this board for looking up and reviewing movies. It's fast, easy to use and I enjoy the different opinions and views. I've never posted on the board personally but I enjoy reading others.

The message boards are one of the only reasons I still get on IMDb to share my opinion with others. I honestly don't see me using the site much if the message boards are gone.

I've always gone straight to imdb's message boards to get answers about what I just saw or want to see. It's always been the to-go place to get user's honest personal and for no profit/ unbiased review, helps me see things from many other perspectives. Please don't end a Very Good Feature; otherwise, why else would we even need an account?
