Message Boards are the best part of IMDb

because closing the IMDb message boards is a massive setback on freedom of speech. About every Movie-/Actor-Wikipedia-page links to the one Database where regular movie-goers of all genders, colors, interests, countries, ages, ... i.e. everybody goes to look for fairly unbiased, un-paid-for opinions of other movie-goers. Since 1990!! Just ignore the trolls and/or update software. We will remember this, amazon! (the river of all, btw. Not just the precious few...)

I know the "experts" at IMDB believe they should purely be considered a database site, but what good is a movie site without discussion? Isn't that why movies are made? To be discussed, ridiculed, questioned, etc. If IMDB wants to be a "database only" website maybe movie lovers should just use Wikipedia for that information instead. Surely it doesn't cost them much more to have the boards, so why not leave them be? Or even a better idea, make the boards better. Good luck IMDumB, not really, Hopefully people quit going to your site, but judging by a mere 10000+ sigs I figure you still have the movie information market by da balls.

IMDB has for years been my go-to site for exploring movies and finding new ones. Without the message boards, I will have almost no reason to come back to IMDB. A huge DATABASE of thoughtful analysis and related information will be lost forever if this goes through (isn't that what you're all about?) Allow volunteer moderators to tame the trolls. Don't punish everyone else for the acts of a few.

You can't take the boards down. They've been so rewarding in my life!!!
