Nooooooo!! The only reason I go to IMDB is for the message boards. There is nowhere else on the internet to go for this? Why would you shut them down? Ugh!!!!

The message boards are the best part of IMDB. I just ignore or block the trolls, and there aren't that many of them. I learn a lot about the movies from the message boards. Please keep them!
I've been using the sight since I looked up Leonardo DiCaprio for The Beach, which was in 2000. Please keep the boards. It's the main reason I come to this site. I will have to look elsewhere for member comments and feedback on movies and tv shows.

The main thing IMDB has going for it is the discussions that are on-going from a film. After every movie that I enjoy, I go straight to the forums to see what others thought and their own interpretations. This is a very poor decision on IMDBs part. If they need a system to combat trolls, put in tools like a voting system. If a post has enough downvotes, it gets flagged or collapsed. Very sad and poor way to handle a situation.

Please, I hope they don't take away the message boards and disable the comment section. It's one of the main reasons I actually have the IMDB app. When looking up a movie/TV show I ALWAYS check what other people are saying/discussing in the message boards.

As a self-taught filmmaker, IMDb boards were and still are an ESSENTIAL tool, it's a part of my identity, and has been for 15 years.

Please keep the message boards, they contain some invaluable information, especially for older movies or some art cinema, classics. So much knowledge and wisdom will be lost by discontinuing these.

IMDB is a permanent tag I keep up in my browser. I check out stuff here at least 12 times a week. The boards are the only place to find if a show is actually getting cancelled, or to receive messages on when the show is coming back. The Message Boards are also a GREAT influence on whether I bother to start watching a new show or not. There is no finer place to get detailed side info on a show, as your members are very good at doing research and finding interesting nuggets of information about the show/movie.
To drop these boards would be a huge inconvenience to your public. Please reconsider.
As to trolls...screw the trolls! They can be ignored.

I haven't seen any abusive comments in my time using the boards. Some silly stuff but nothing abusive. Others are right, message boards can't be recreated on something like Facebook or Instagram and as such message boards are useful and needed. Finally, message boards cant surely be costly to upkeep, they are basic and easy and it's ridiculous to take something like this away. It's there. Keep it.

It's a big loss and a huge step back when the boards are gone. Trolls can just be ignored,. If money is a problem, just put some banner ads. I don't know if those are really the reasons the boards will be removed. Probably it's another reason ...

Please keep the boards active. I use them each and every time I watch a movie. I use them to better understand what the film was about and to get different views. There are countless times I read info that I couldn't get through other venues.
