Now that the boards are gone I will most definitely never visit imdb again. I Have no interest in the rest of the website and even less in their social media accounts. Above all, I will never buy anything from Amazon again, Plenty of other (better) places for online shopping.

The boards are officially gone, bad bad move IMDB! Years of shared knowledge flushed down the toilet. EVERYBODY SHOULD STOP ADDING INFO CONTRIBUTIONS TO THAT SITE OF SELLOUTS. PLEASE CONSIDER TO STOP GIVING FREE LABOUR TO THOSE DISRESPECTFUL CORPORATE SYCOPHANTS.

boards are a great research tool if you want to know how non-professionals discuss movies

Well the message boards have now closed, so IMDb/Amazon obviously don't give a damn about their loyal message board fan base. Thanks IMDb/Amazon for ignoring your users. To state that your decision is to benefit us, is just a flat out lie, it's very obviously financially motivated. I hope this turns into the New Coke fiasco for you.

By far, was my favorite website through the years. Mainly due to the forums, so much valuable and quirky information all in one place but since it's gone so am I.

I will have no use for the site going forward. Been checking the message boards for over 10 years and never signed up. I think they are underestimating how many people are just like me and check the boards for questions and thoughts.

Trolls are easy to skip. IMDB message boards do have a lot of positive, informative, and insightful content, But well, people move on and will discuss someplace else (not facebook or twitter). Too bad!

I´ve been a IMDB member for about 10 years, and has to be because the message board, After i see a movie i go to the mesagge board just for read different opinions, different aproaches to the movie that maybe i didnt realize. Of course there are a lot of trolls, but the internet is full of those, so dont get rid of the message board because of them.

After every movie I watch (and sometimes before) I go straight to the IMDB message boards to check out the conversations going on about the movie. I do rank some movies, but the only reason I go to IMDB in the first place is to check out the message boards. Without the message board I'll just check the ratings on rottentomatoes (which has a better ranking system (movie critic vs general public)). No reason for me to go to IMDB anymore!

Imdb is my favorite app of all time. I use it every single day. I look up trivia on the show or movie I am watching. I love trying to place a certain actor or if they are foreign because I thought I heard a hint of an accent. My other routine is to always check the message boards after watching a show to know if something irritated another viewer like it did me or to hear other opinions. It is one place to go and I don't have to search to find other like minded individuals. A huge mistake to take down the message boards!

Ive been using imbd message boards for over 10 years without out them i wont be using your site. I dont always post but i enjoy reading other posts to see if people feel the same way i do about a movie or tv show. Please revonsider closing your biards or getting moderaters. Maybe a chat room?

I've been a member of these boards for years, I had no idea they were planning to discontinue service. I sincerely hope they reconsider; there is no where else on the internet where fans came come together and have open and honest discussion of our favorite media the way we can on IMDB.

Please keep the boards, this is how I find movie recommendations, especially for older movie recommendations.

Films are an expression of speech. It is our response which makes it an active conversation, rather than a passive indoctrination. Please don't silence us.

Leave the message boards in place and uninterrupted. It's the best place for lively discussion. Don't worry about trolls. We'll sort that out. You just continue to provide the best entertainment news and information site that you have been!
