So annoyed I loved watching a film and then going here to discuss views on the films in depth. Cannot believe this has been removed. Please rethink this stupid decision

The message boards are an amazing place to visit to discuss the movie you've just seen. I love reading other interpretations about movies and without this, the movie is just some empty space. Please consider that your website works, much like Wikipedia, because of the controbution of your visiting movie fans. Now you took away our only spot to discuss the things we love most. I'd urge you to bring back the message boards because I fear my favorite site will soon just be an empty shell.

IMDB had the best boards on the net, granted trolls got a bit out of hand on pop. boards, but a little moderating and IP mult account prevention would have solved it.
IMDB is pretty useless now, can just google any info about cast, movie release dates, etc.

whilst i agree the amount of trolling is a problem the boards fill a great need for genuine fans of film to discuss aspects of a film they have enjoyed and enabling access to a varied point of view to your own take on a particular film

I have used these message boards for years to get information and read opinions on rare, often foreign, films and TV--in other words, to research material that interests me, which is very different from going on social media and chatting about films with friends. IMDb message boards provided a unique and incredibly valuable resource. I cannot believe you have removed that vast library of information!! Even if you closed the boards to further discussion (which doesn't seem necessary IMO) I still don't understand why you decided to close down the existing forums as well. I am signing this--my first ever online petition!

I have been a member for 12 years and every time I finished a movie I'd go to the board to see what others would think of it and to see if any one had noticed something subtle as I did. It really is unfortunate to see it closed.

The message boards were one of the main reasons I visited IMDB. I learned so much about behind the scenes and Theories I may never have thought of myself. How will anyone know what the hell is going on in Lost Highway without the IMDB forums?

I have been a longtime user of the message boards and always went to them after I watched a movie to gain a better insight. I hope you reconsider the closure or bring them back in a more controlled avenue.
