I cannot believe they have withdrawn the message boards!!!! One of the main reasons to visit IMDB

For years , I have gone to the message boards to share with others and disagree with some. The trolls were always a nuisance but not worth scrapping a very worthwhile part of IMDB.

The best bit of the IMDb is gone, please bring back the message boards! I can' believe you'd close them, such a treasure of information. Please bring them back. I'm not following you on social media and finding such an archive of information so easy to access is not possible on Twitter or Facebook. Trolls however do go there too... :(

The message boards were the reason for at least 90% of my visits to the website. I always get caught up in details when it comes to movies/tv shows and it was always interesting to read opinions written by other people about the very same details i noticed. IMDB will never be the same and i definitely don't have a reason to visit frequently any more.

You'll still be able to use it as a reference site, which is what it was in 2001. If you want to chat on messageboards go to Letterboxd.com You'll like it so much more there.

People who hang out on these boards need to get a life. I'm glad the boards are gone now. Death to pretence and TROLLS forever. Go to Letterboxd which is 100x better.

Like a lot of people, I don't often contribute to the message board, but refer to it to sometimes clarify plot points and interesting trivia on the movies I watch. I read them more than the reviews, as many viewpoints on a topic are present. It's always been my favourite feature of IMDB. Please bring them back!

There's literally zero reason for me to use the site now. I used to go here after every new movie I watched to check up on the discussion, and often check the consensus regarding movies before I watched them as well, Oh well, time to wait for the first other site that takes over imdb's old function that is now gone.

I don't use social media and the IMDB Facebook page does not have the depth of the message boards. This decision severely reduces my IMDB usage.

what now ? how can they kill such thing which was the IMDB itself ? what is the reason now to check IMDB ?

One of my guilty pleasures in life is gone... and it hurts!

An absurd decision. There is probably no other forum where every film known to history has its own board. I will not "boycott" IMDb, but I am sure I will not be visiting nearly as much; the boards were a rich source of debate and humor.

Without the boards IMDb is pointless. I'm boycotting the site and will rely on the many other excellent resources until the boards are fully restored.

I not only loved it for sharing my opinion on what makes a movie great, and seeing others; but also for completely anhialating those who think Interstellar is better than 2001: A Space Odyssey. I know a-lot of you think it was good, but not THAT good. RIP

If you want to kick off trolls, add a TROLL COMMENT option for users and hire a person to read them and see if they are, and if they are, delete them. Maybe introduce a points systwem, where x-amount of strikes and you're banned, and their I.P address excluded from access to the site. OR, show I.P address of all users comments so trolls are less likely to trll nowing they can be tracked by their victims :-) I'd take the comment checking job. £15k a year and I'm yours, 24/7.

I LOVE the boards! Please keep them going or there really is NO reason to visit this site!
