Someone else said it: "it's one of the best things on the Internet, period." They were right. The internet as a resource of cultural information has seriously been degraded with the removal of these boards. IMDB will quickly become obsolete. Another resource will soon pop up to take its place.

Please bring back the IMDB message boards. I have been a member for 9 long years and it was a place I enjoyed visiting. I mostly came there for the message boards. Since the recent passing of my favourite actor, Gene Wilder, I had a place I could go to discuss him. It was a place of comfort where I could mourn with other fans and now we have nothing. I feel like my heart has been ripped out.

PLEASE BRING BACK IMDB MESSAGE BOARDS! It's one of the few places I can talk to others interested in the more obscure movies of the past decades. Like, "Who is 'Darling' , from the film of the same name, based on? I'd say Diana Rigg.'. Only on IMDB would I have someone pipe up and answer. :)

Intelligent movie goers knew what to believe or not and the troll excuse is ridiculous. Deleting the site and have gone online to push the same. IMDB execs are ignorant. Your loss

I've been using the IMDb message boards for over 10 years. Every time I see a new movie I immediately go to the message boards when I get home. I love seeing what people think, hearing their opinions and theories about movies. I'm very saddened that they're being shut down, my movie watching experience will be forever changed.

The IMDB boards are one of the few places I can uncover the meaning of things I see but don't understand in films from cultures different from my own. Not least US culture. Sometimes these insights are crucial to my understand of the film's plot or even it's denouement.
Without the boards, IMDB will be of much less use to me and my enjoyment of film much diminished. Please fix whatever the real problems are rather than depriving us of a very useful facility.

I cannot believe this! I am pissed. We need the message boards back! There is no other place I can find movies popular, indie,etc...where I can find like-minded people who had answers to questions I have. This was a hub for movie enthusiast who needed to dissect a film and have educated discussion.
Social media platforms aren't enough. Especially if the movie is a small indie film. Please bring it back, don't worry about hateful trolls. Maybe make a filtered system where they can get kicked out if they used racist comments.
