I discovered true movie gems thanks to people on these boards and returned to the boards to gain insight or enjoy different viewpoints after seeing a movie.
So THANK YOU to those that contributed, it was truly precious to me.

Been posting on IMDb boards since the day they went up. As the site started on old fashioned bullentin boards, there is a bitter irony to the boards being shut down. I realize Col is a worthless "yes man" for Amazon, but he should be ashamed. He uses people and spits them out. Shame.

Without the boards wikipedia is as good as imdb. so why go to imdb when they take away all the fun?

It wasn't difficult to weed out the noisy trolls on IMDb's message boards, at least not for me--and making that effort was well worth it as I gleamed so much knowledge and insight from reading the posts placed on these boards. Please reconsider this awful decision IMDb!

I use these messageboards to find details on specific movies. No other source can point directly to details like that. I would volunteer as a moderator, if that would raise the quality. Closing these boards would ruin IMDb for me in many ways.

I have learned more about some of my favorite films from knowledgeable imdb users on the message boards over the past 16 years. What an incredible resource it is/was. To remove them really is a harsh and unfair blow to film lovers who want a forum to read about and discuss films. Forget the trolls. I always ignored them. Don't punish the rest of us for the actions of a few idiots.

From the time IMDB started, the boards were one of the most important features from the whole IMDB thing. I am a film professional and have been working for over 20 years for various film festivals and many film productions. The message boards were giving us the feed back we need regarding the films and the film makers. What a pity to destroy all that work and information reservoir. And regarding the trolls...we just scroll thru them, without getting irritated. Now you gave them more importance than they deserve. :(

Please bring back the boards! I check them everytime I see a movie. I will no longer visit IMDb and will delete my account. I will only return and re-register if you bring back the boards.
