Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

The boards were the main reason that IMDB was amazing. And this was despite the trolling(which I think wasn't as bad as Col. Needham said, and could've been brought under control with better moderation), and outdated design that I wish had been updated(a la GameFAQs). Till you bring them back, I'll be boycotting IMDB, and will use Wikipedia and Rotten Tomatoes. Also this message board is a good substitute: http://imdb2.freeforums.net/

I love the message boards. It's my favorite thing to go to while or after watching a movie! Bring it back!!!

Pleeeeeeeease bring them back. The message boards were the ONLY thing that made IMDB special - made it THE place to go after watching a movie. Where am I going to go to learn what "___" really meant or how to interpret the way "________" ended? Might as well go to Rotten Tomatoes now.

For a writer, like me, these message boards are invaluable for testing ideas and exchanging views with other film enthusiasts and writers. They are a valuable resource. It's a tragedy to let them go. Without them, IMDb is just part of Amazon and will fade away.

The biggest reason to use IMDb was their message boards. It's a shame and very unfortunate that IMDb decided to remove them. There's not much incentive now to still use IMDb. Good thing for users is that this is the internet and this gap, and a huge missed opportunity for IMDb, is already being filled by better alternatives, like themoviedb.org, moviechat.org, imdforums.com, imdb2.freeforums.net, moviepanels.com, theimdbforum.com.

I had an IMDB account for more than 16 years and the message boards were one of the best features of the site. The ability to talk about movies and TV shows with other passionate watchers is sorely missed.

That was only reason I ever went there. Unless it comes back, I will not frequent your site again or your advertisers.

this was a major mistake and really should have rethought on Amazon/IMDB's part. it's a major part of what interests people in IMDB in the first place. A huge amount of users are very upset at this.

It's nonsense to say that the boards were not well used.. every single board I checked in the last few weeks, even for older films had been recently commented on. Where can we go to discuss theories about older or more obscure films? We don't only want to talk about the most recent blockbusters! You are going to loose a lot of custom!

Dropping IMDB until the boards return. Despite the rather annoying interface, the boards we probably my #2 feature, after the overall movie & actor info. In any case, the movie & actor info is easy to find elsewhere. The boards, not at all. Anyway, adios for now.

A part of my life, a rare joy, is gone. So often, the Internet has given, and taken away, so abruptly. Please don't make this another.

Please bring the boards back.It was helpful chatting with others about movies/tv shows and finding out trivia and when something will be coming out. Please reconsider.I will say this I will no longer be visiting that website if the message board is no longer running.

I loved paging through the message boards for the most part. I just ignored the negativity and enjoyed the fans of film discussing all the different aspects of the movies they love. Without it I barely visit IMDB, we need the boards back.
