The boards have tons of good info that have never been incorporated into the IMDB itself. Why is that? And now you want to lose it? Losing the boards is losing traffic. No traffic no eyes on ads. No one will pay for your Pro site, except people in show biz. You've just destroyed yr site--too bad Amazon bought you. This is now heading towards the end of IMDB.

Agreed!! AMAZON and IMDB committed a sin destroying that information. IT WAS NOT REALLY THEIRS!! IT WAS OURS!! WE PUT IT THERE!!! They did not write all that info! But they destroyed it like burning books... like the fire that burned the library at Alexandria, it is sinful! I HATE AMAZON. I HATE IMDB!

I am done with IMDB. I is fun to find my movie information somewhere else. There are a lot of good websites to get the basic info I want and some are dedicated to the movie or show I am looking up so it is even better than IMDB. I will miss the insight I got from strangers, regular people posting to IMDB messagabe boards.. . they were very helpful over the years explaining plots points I did not understand... but I will live without them. I have not been back to IMDB or bought anything on AMAZON... I am in full boycott mode,.,, and I tell everyone who will listen. I have NOTHING good to say about them

The boards were what got me in to film and discussing it's unique ability to tell stories in a variety of ways while maintaining different inputs and opinions on the matter.

The boards is the main reason I've been using imdb for over a decade. Please bring it back!

Please bring back the boards. My experiences there have been completely positive. I love being able to read about the nuances of films that my non-maniac friends don't care about.

IMDb message boards was a rare joy in my life. So often the Internet has given, and taken away, so abruptly. As an early founder of an Internet Site, I would certainly hope you can appreciate the legacy and magic of message boards. Please reconsider this decision, as you have a chance to rise above corporate trivials, and actually create history. Something few humans can enjoy.

The message boards on IMDB are the best part of IMDB. Where else can you talk about a recent blockbuster, an obscure silent movie, a weekly tv show, and anything else all in one place? There are trolls, but who cares? I can block a troll, but by shutting the boards down, I can no longer find information, interesting insights, and a community around my favorite things? Please bring back the boards!

Big mistake, part of the IMDB experience was using the messageboards.

Not only were the message boards the sole reason I would come to the IMDb site after viewing a movie or wondering about a performer, but they served a purpose far beyond mundane discussion. I have seen the most amazing information on the boards, and connections being made or sought that were impossible anywhere else online. The boards were like a giant collective memory bank for anyone who loved film with a passion. Sure there were some trolls, but more importantly, everyone who cared about movies came to the IMDb message boards: relatives of famous stars, people researching books about obscure performers, people with information unknown to anyone else in the world, not otherwise online, not in books -- they knew the boards were a place where someone else would care about what they'd learned in conversation with a star in a supermarket. They knew that their piece of arcane knowledge about a black performer who only played maids, but who was a fascinating person in her own right would find an audience on the boards. I learned so much from the boards and all that knowledge is just gone. There had been purges before, but the boards currently went back at least 10 years if not earlier. Why not bring them back and set up a moderator system? Killing the boards, you've killed one of the most vibrant communities on the entire internet. I may check a cast list here now and then, but I can go to Wikipedia for that. IMDb will die without the boards.

The message boards are the MAIN reason I use IMDB Without out, I will go on only to look at Trivia and see who is in the movie. That is it. As an IMDB user for at least 14 years, I am very disappointed and upset.

It seems that someone at the IMDb went on a power trip and banished the popular message boards. Get real. The message boards were extremely helpful for users to understand a movie. Surely you can think of a better way to handle the trolls than eliminating a very popular feature of IMDb. It's like Trump has just gained control of the IMDb and is reeking havoc because he doesn't understand it's purpose.

I may not have commented on the message boards, but I visited them almost every day to read other people's views on things they caught during watching. without the message boards, there's really very little point in IMDB any more. There are many review sites out there that are better for reading movie reviews. IMDB no longer has anything to offer, IMO.

How could you do this? The IMDB message boards were the only place I could go to to talk about a film, TV or someone involved in the film or TV show. I will no longer have a reason to visit IMDB without the message boards. I can just go to Wikipedia for information and Rotten Tomatoes for reviews. And I will...
