I always check IMDB before and after a movie and the message boards are a critical part of this process for Learning about the movie, figuring out alternate series, getting questions I had answered, Etc.
I have found myself less interested in visiting IMDb since the removal of the message board.

dear imdb, do you even realize what you have done? you destroyed knowledge. that can not be tolerated. discussing film/actor topics was like 95% of your success. you can shutdown the entire site now. without the message boards noone will visit your site.

One of the best reasons to go to IMDB. Since they rely on advertising shouldn't they want people to hang around longer or keep loyal fans? I used to spend a lot of time reading the boards (for info/insight/theories on tv/movies). Now I just take a quick glance at the site and move on. The experience just isn't the same. I am actively looking for an alternative because this site no longer has the same draw it once had. Good luck keeping the site up when there is a mass exodus of members who find a viable alternative.

I'll go to Rotten Tomatoes or somewhere else with boards... as everyone else has said, that is a huge community and reason why I regularly go to IMDB

We are increasingly becoming more isolated from one another on the internet. The removal of the IMDb message boards was a another nail in the coffin. You are alienating millions of people. This will do more harm than any troll can do.

I hate you IMDB and AMAZON. I am boycotting both services. What you have done is like burning books. Like burning a library! THIS WAS NOT YOUR INFORMATION!! We put it together! It was ours!! AND YOU BURNED IT! The info found in the message boards was valuable and alive. AND YOU BURNED IT!! I HATE YOU !! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS ON AMAZON AGAIN!
