AWFUL idea! I hope IMDb reconsiders, as the message boards are probably the best feature of the entire site. I've been a member for almost 16 years and will greatly miss it.

TERRIBLE idea. The message board is one of the first places I go to when I'm watching an old movie. You're throwing the baby out with the bath water... spend a damn buck and just hire two flunkies to monitor the board and let us adults discuss Claude Rains films as always. IDIOTS. STUPID IDIOTS.

I have relied on the Message Boards more than anything else on IMDB. This is where I learn what people's opinions on movies and T.V. shows are. It is absolutely VITAL to me. I have even communicated with past movie, and T.V. stars who have been all but forgotten. These Message Boards ARE the bridge of History from the present to the past....our link to the world culture of yesterday and tomorrow.
I cannot stress enough how important they are. It's literally like destroying a historical monument. I am begging you...please don't be like the other morons of society who want to erase the past....this place IS a Museum.
