Petition to keep the IMDB messageboards going

If you don't want to host the forums, at least give the data to http://www.moviechat.org/ so he can host all those old discussions we had. Some of them are valuable, even if the majority are not.

I learned so much from IMDB message boards...the first place I would go after watching a movie...It was a treasure. ...Shut down the whole site...it's worthless now.

Bring back the message boards! The worst idea ever. Seriously whoever came up with that idea should be sacked. The message board was the best thing about the site. The website is insufficient without the online community, why get rid of something that isn't broken? The fans should have a say in this decision as the messageboard is literally nothing without them.

Shutting down the msg boards was just criminal. Bring them back.

I use the forums a lot, plenty of information and personal opinions, debate, etc. Shutdown cause people are providing download links and negative feedback on titles the major companies want to cash in, including Amazon who owns imdb. Bring the forums back!!

They suck without the message boards. Everything else was just a lead in to the boards.

Message boards is interesting and informative place to discuss move related matters. Don't kill it.

This makes no sense, mostly everyone who likes movies uses the message boards. I personally love them and use them on a daily basis. I will no longer use the site after they shut them down I dont think they realize the negatige impact this will have on thier website.

I really miss it and honestly don't know why you got rid of one of the most enjoyable features of the website

please bring back the message board. i was never a troll. Reading other opinions of movies were so enlightening.

Dumb, dumb move IMDB. Yeah, so there are trolls. So what? Ignore them! Many people have legitimate questions, thoughts and insights regarding film and television. IMDB needs to realize the great value of the message boards and honor those who use them! Taking that away from film enthusiasts is a tragedy and needs to be corrected.

Without the message boards, IMDb loses 90% of its use and appeal in my book. After watching a movie it was standard operating procedure for me to go to the message boards to see what others had to say that could shed some light on questions the movie had raised and to find out about trivia and other nuggets that enriched the viewing experience. Imo they eviscerated the website by cutting the message boards. I fervently hope that some enterprising party will fill the void left by this decision and create a place where movielovers can come together and talk film. The discussion after watching a movie is such a vital part of the experience, any selfrespecting movielover knows this. Shame on IMDb.

there may be bad, but there is also good. the imdb message boards were where I went to learn about entertainment. Such as when a movie might be coming out. We shared knowledge. You can't appreciate the light without the darkness

Message boards were the only reason I went to the site! I bet they lose a ton of traffic.

I mainly use IMDB just for the Message Boards. Best feature of the site. I don't know of any other site where I can interact and find the same kind of information and opions on films and actors. Bring the Message Boards back!!

The only reason I visited IMDB was to go to the message board and see other people's thoughts on films I have recently watched. I have yet to find a replacement,
