I only come to IMDB for the Message Boards. I have learned to overlook the trolls and enjoy the Message Boards. I enjoy reading about how other people viewed the movie/tv show that just saw and comparing our thoughts.

The message boards are the main reason I visit imdb!
How on earth are social media sites like twitter, FB, etc are going to provide the same amount of info on obscure films and lesser known actors that I found by visiting the imdb forums?
As stupid as it sounds, I'm truly shocked and heartbroken over this announcement!

Expunging the Comments is a violation of free speech.
And it's a lazy, cowardly way out of the troll dilemma.
America currently lives with an administration bent on destroying the rights that have been hard-won for the past century.

I will cancel Amazon prime and stop spending money on Amazon in any format starting Feb 20th if the IMDb boards are shut down.

Conversing with other users about film here has brought a lot of joy to my life. There is no reason for the boards to be shut down. People have the mental capacity to ignore trolls/stuff that offends them.

I have learned more about classic films on IMDB message boards than anywhere else. Closing the message boards is like removing a piece of Hollywood Film history.

IMDB will see a lot less board traffic which will hurt its SEO.
Its a great website (with or without the forum)
The forum has issues. however i think you need to listen to the will of the people, and keep it going. We could take a stand and I may promote cancelling prime memberships on the back of this.

I know if I don't understand details about a movie, I can come here and knowledgeable people on the boards will explain it. For 12 years I've also made real-life friends here who I've traveled to meet and see the world. Please reconsider.
