The message boards are the life blood of IMDb, generating the traffic that the pages of raw data alone could not. If "the vast majority" of users truly no longer found the experience "positive, useful" we'd have already left.

Caving to trolls, hiding from free speech and everything that entails, severely circumscribing user interaction to the point of it being almost nonexistent--this is a terrible, utterly craven response and should be immediately rescinded.

I have been registered on the boards (under the same user name) almost since the beginning. December 1999 is my official registration date. I hope that my seniority will carry a little weight.

The IMDB message boards are the best way discuss awards shows films and series in general and still have the specific boards for fans of different films, series and actors
